Elisse B. Walter (born April 14, 1950 in New York City〔) was the 30th Chairperson of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from December 14, 2012-April 10, 2013. She was appointed Chairwoman by President Barack Obama on November 26, 2012, and sworn in on December 14, 2012.〔National Association of State Boards of Accountancy ("New SEC Appointments" ), January 2013.
